Thanksgiving time has arrived! Can you believe it? It’s time for students to go home, gather around the table, be thankful, enjoy family, and celebrate this wonderful holiday. I decided to find out what a couple of students were doing for this amazing time of the year. Many students like to head out extra early in order to sneak in a bit more time with friends and family. The official break begins Wednesday November 26th and goes through Sunday November 30th.
The first interviewee was Mary Kirkman, a junior from Burlington, North Carolina who is heading to Raleigh, North Carolina for a thanksgiving lunch to meet her baby cousin that was just born. Following this event, she is heading back to Burlington for a dinner at her father’s house and some delicious dessert.
Kenny Bonilla, from Salisbury, North Carolina, shared how he is staying home and spending his Thanksgiving vacation between Charlotte with his Catawba alumni buddies and Salisbury.
Alexis Robinson from Pomona, New Jersey is heading back home to spend time with her family and watch the biggest football game of the year at her high school. Then on Friday she is planning to spend her day doing some Black Friday shopping.
A junior from Greensboro, North Carolina by the name of Michelle Marrara is heading back to her home and celebrating Thanksgiving at her aunt Connie’s house along with her twenty-first birthday celebration.
Lastly, an international student from London, England named Tobias Iriah is heading to another Catawba students home. Ian Orr has welcomed Tobias to his home and they will be spending quality time with friends and family.
These are just a couple of Catawba students’ plans for Thanksgiving. It will not be long before we will be heading home for Winter vacation!
