Formally known as Mondo’s, McCorkle’s offers students several food and snack options to satisfy your taste buds. Whether it’s that fresh chocolate muffin, Mabel’s famous chocolate chip cookies, or even that mango Starbuck’s smoothie, you are guaranteed to find an item you really truly enjoy.

I asked Mary Kirkman, a junior at Catawba what her favorite item at McCorkle’s was. Mary stated, “the chocolate chip cookie.” She says she often finds herself sprinting to the grill to grab a quick snack before class. The next student that gave us insight on what his favorite item at McCorkle’s was Jake La Francis, a sophomore. La Francis said he “couldn’t go a day without the chicken sandwich with chipotle mayo.” The last interviewee was Conner Noonan, a junior, who said his absolute favorite was the “iced caramel macchiato.”

So next time you might find yourself a bit troubled with making a decision, keep these three favorites in mind and you are bound to find your next favorite! McCorkle’s is not only a great place to eat but also a hot spot to hang out. There’s a nice plasma TV, an iPod connected to speakers, comfortable couches, and its a step away from the game room!
