Meet Matthew Wilkinson, Catawba family! He is a junior and currently 20 years old. He is a native of Leeds, England and is pursuing a business major with a concentration in marketing. He goes by Matt, very rarely do people actually call him Matthew. He decided to head to the States when he received the opportunity to play soccer here at Catawba.

Matt says that he loves that at Catawba everyone knows each other and that he has the opportunity to meet such a diverse group of people, especially with the amount of foreign students on his team. He originally says he had a hard time adjusting, but playing soccer and finding friends has made Catawba so much fun for him.

Before coming to Catawba, he attended York College for two years, where he played soccer and also studied psychology, physical education, and business.

Matt shared with me that his favorite color is red due to the fact that he is a die-hard Liverpool fan (his favorite team in the English Premier League).

After college, Matt plans on pursuing his interest in business while staying connected to soccer, by becoming a sports agent. He plans on either returning to the UK to pursue his career or remain in the U.S. as soccer is rapidly growing in popularity here.
