Meet Kirstyn Kruse, a current sophomore at Catawba College, is strongly considering majoring in Integrated Marketing Communications and minoring in English. She was born and raised in Cape Cod, Massachusetts and is part of the women’s lacrosse team. Her position out on the field is attack and after redshirting her freshman year, she looks to play a major role in this year’s attempt to win the South Atlantic Conference.
Kirstyn attended the Williston Northampton School, which is a boarding school in the Western part of Massachusetts. She was there for all four years of high school and played field hockey, basketball, and lacrosse. She had many different experiences with students from all over the world at a very young age. She says her favorite part about boarding school was everything in general. “It was the best experience of my life,” said Kruse.
I asked Kirstyn how she found out about Catawba and she said her parents told her it was best to look at small schools in the South. She expressed that she fell in love with the school after coming here on her recruitment trip and meeting with Coach Jordan Clodfelter. When asking Kruse about her experiences at Catawba so far, she said her favorite moments have been being part of her lacrosse team and bonding with them as a family. She also mentioned how friendly the students and faculty at Catawba are.
She hopes to someday become an entrepreneur and create a business focused on health and fitness. She is passionate about spending time with family and loves to take trips and visit home whenever she gets the opportunity.
