Last Tuesday night at Frock Field when the women’s soccer team took on the Pfeiffer Falcons. It was senior night for Katie Mathis, Allison Parker, and Karen Presnell. It was a very special evening for these three ladies, as their families escorted them out onto the field.

Bethany Davis, junior goalkeeper, recorded 12 saves including one phenomenal penalty kick. Both Pfeiffer and Catawba entered the game with equal records, 10-5-1. However, after 110 minutes of play, neither team was able to get one behind the net. The final score of the night was 0-0.

Karen Presnell had three opportunities, but were all stopped by Pfeiffer’s goalkeeper, Blakeney Blair. In the 79th minute, there was a handball called against Catawba. Kaitlin Sampson took the penalty kick, and Davis was able to block it with her incredible dive.

They travel to Lincoln Memorial this Tuesday to take on the Railsplitters in the first round of the SAC Tournament.
