This past Saturday night, I went to go see the wonderful and hilarious show, On the Verge, here at Catawba College. The play consisted of four main characters; three Victorian travelers (Prentice Clark, Anna Catherine Hall, and Maddy Auchter) who take an adventure through time in hopes to absorb knowledge from the future and discover themselves. The other character was a male (Randy Stull) who appeared in every year they traveled. He did a fantastic job of making the audience believe that the three women were really traveling through time. Changing his costume and using different voices in each scene, there is no question that the audience was kept in full suspense and laughter the whole show. He had a very important and very significant role to the play. But I can’t say much without spoiling the whole thing. The whole cast and crew did an amazing job. The show was put together by theCatawba College Theatre Arts Department. Both theatre faculty and staff, and theatre students helped build and put away the set, focus, and rearranged lights, and create the props and costumes. Overall it was a fantastic show, if you missed it, don’t worry! You can always watch the next play that they are performing, Godspell.
