For many, a small private liberal institution is most valued. Catawba College, located in historic Salisbury, NC, provides its students with one on one interaction with their professors, and small class sizes with a student to professor ratio of 14:1.
On January 27th, 2016, the Alpha Chi Honor Society at Catawba College hosted their Dean’s List Reception honoring those students who made the Dean’s list for the spring 2015 and fall 2016 semesters.There were a total of 305 students invited to the ceremony. Students who qualify for the Dean’s list have to obtain a 3.5 grade point average or higher in 15 or more credit hours a semester. The ceremony started with a meet and greet where students and faculty got the opportunity to socialize among each other, while enjoying a wide variety of food. The President of Catawba College, Brien Lewis, gave the opening remarks and reminded the students that they are what shapes Catawba to be one of the best private institutions in the nation. After, students and faculty got to hear from a variety of speakers including the College Provost, a Catawba alumni, and the faculty leader of Alpha Chi. Catawba College takes pride in its student body and will continue to acknowledge those who accelerate with their academics. As many students on campus would state, “Fair Catawba, My Catawba”.
