On Friday October 23rd, 2015, Special Olympics athletes were invited to enjoy a night of food, fellowship, and music hosted at the Christ United Methodist Church Family Life Center located on Mooresville Road in Salisbury, NC. The event was a Spaghetti Dinner held for the Special Olympics Participants. The athletes were served an appetizer of salad, an entree of Spaghetti, and a desert of their choice.

The Special Olympics College club at Catawba was on sight volunteering for the event. Students and Volunteers from the Catawba Campus worked the event as waiters or waitresses taking drink and food orders. The set up of the dinner was identical to a restaurant, but also more of a dining club. Not only did Catawba Students enjoy serving the amazing athletes, they also got the chance to share some dance moves with them as well.

Catawba College Special Olympics College Club is a major partner with Special Olympics of Rowan County and have completed their second successful volunteering event. Students in the organization have planned out a full schedule of Volunteer events with the Special Olympics of Rowan County and plan on inviting any students from the campus community who wish to partake in such an amazing opportunity.
