Will you be in North Carolina for the summer but don’t know what there is to do? Well do not despair because North Carolina actually has a lot to offer.  With beaches, mountains, and flat land, there are many different types of activities to take part in during the North Carolina summer.

One of the things to do is visit Old Salem Museums and Gardens. Old Salem is a town in Winston Salem where you can enjoy gardens that are carefully tended, shops that make things in ways of the past, and learn about history in the museum.

Are you an artsy person? If so, head out to the coast and visit Seagrove which has several potteries and is the center for pottery in North Carolina. Get dirty and try making your own pottery!

Give Carowinds a try! You can find coupons for tickets in shops and restaurants everywhere in North Carolina. There is a water park inside and they just opened up a new roller coaster named Fury 365! If you plan on going more than two times, then get a season pass and go as many times as you want for the same price.

There are also countless museums in North Carolina with all different subject matter inside each and every one of them.  Visit several of them and learn new and exciting things. Maybe you will even impress a professor with your new knowledge!

The Great Smoky Mountains Railroad is a great escape that offers a variety of destinations, each trip  lasting several hours.  They are based out of Bryson City, NC.  Take a drive on The Road to Nowhere while you are there.  The road was started but the government never finished it.

The North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro is also a great place to visit during the early summer before it gets too hot.  They have lots of exotic animals, both big and small, from all over the world.

Visit the Biltmore House, originally a plantation house, which has been made into a museum for the public.  The Biltmore House has a special summer garden they plant and let the public tour and it is breathtaking!

Music festivals are a big deal in NC and there are plenty of them! There are also other types of festivals in NC such as a BBQ festivals, beer festivals, the Renaissance Festival, and many others.

Craft fairs pop up everywhere, even in the small towns! Go to some of them because you can always find something you did not know you needed at a craft fair and they have wonderful food!
