Meet Paul Kronenfeld, a 6’3″ first baseman/outfielder on the Catawba baseball team from Greensboro, North Carolina. Paul is a senior this season and he is number 44 on the field.  In the classroom, Paul is a business administration major. Paul graduated from Woodberry Forest High School and before coming to Catawba, he attended Georgia Tech. When Paul is not participating in baseball related activities, he enjoys hanging out with the guys on the baseball team and watching Netflix.

I asked Paul what he wants to do after college and he replied, “after college I want to continue playing baseball in the minor leagues but if not I would like to do some managing in the business world somewhere.”  I also asked Paul what are some goals that he has set for himself for this season and he replied, “the team goal is to win the conference and to do whatever it takes to win the conference and I would like to be first team all-conference.”

This is Paul’s second season on the Catawba baseball team after transferring to Catawba from Georgia Tech so I asked him how Catawba is different from the previous college you attended and he replied, “the location of the school and the teachers are much more engaging with the students and the coaches are much more 1 on 1 with the players because at Georgia Tech you were just a number.” I also asked Paul why he chose Catawba when he was looking at different schools and he replied, “it is an hour away from home and I really liked coach Gantt and his staff and his love of the game and it helped that the baseball team went to regionals the year before I transferred and I was really impressed with the recent success they had.”

I asked Paul what do he liked most about playing the game of baseball and he replied, “I have loved it ever since I was a kid and it is what my true passion is.” The Catawba baseball team is currently 20-12 overall and they are 13-6 in conference play. The next game for the Indians is Tuesday at home against Winston Salem State at 6 P.M.
