With the upcoming holiday season many of us college students are now at the age where, when we go to parties that require a cover dish, we actually need to bring one.  Some of the easiest things to make for these occasions are desserts because a lot of them can be quickly thrown together and still taste great!

One of the most popular holiday desserts is cookies, in their many shapes, forms, and flavors.  Sugar cookies are one of the most simple varieties and can be molded into many different shapes.  You can also add food coloring to many of the recipes or box mixes for sugar cookies because of their light colored batter making these the perfect candidate for those green fir trees you have been thinking about making for the little children.

Snowflake brownies are gaining in popularity and are very easy to produce but require a special pan.  You can use either a box mix or homemade recipe for the brownies and put them into either a large cake sized snowflake pan or a smaller individual sized cupcake pan.  Once the brownies have cooled down you can flip them out of the pan and dust a bit of powdered sugar on them and enjoy!

And last but certainly not least, my personal favorite is Chocolate Eclair Cake because it is not overly sweet and is the perfect dessert for any occasion!  This dessert is generally made by separating the layers of vanilla pudding and whipped cream blend with graham crackers and topping it with either a homemade or store bought chocolate icing.  You can make this dish more festive by using cinnamon sugar graham crackers.
