During Halloween weekend, Alpha Psi Omega hosted a terrifying event called The Morbid Manor. They got all of the Blue Masque members and truly got in the Halloween spirit. It took place in Hedrick Little Theatre from 9pm-11pm. I personally had an incredibly experience. I went with a bunch of scaredy-cat friends! You see, I love Halloween, I love the paranormal, and I love being scared. But it is very difficult to scare me.

My first scary movie was The Sixth Sense starring Bruce Willis, I saw it at the age of 5. But the people that I went with, seemed to be afraid of their own shadow. It was absolutely hilarious. It all began by a tour guide giving us a tour of the “haunted mansion.” We were allowed to go in groups of five, which was awesome, because I knew all of the actors, so it was to easy play along. The first location, was the lobby of Hedrick Little Theatre. There was a fog machine which gave actors the illusion that they were either dead, zombies, or dead zombies.

Next, we went outside, it was blocked off by an amazing decoration making it look like it was a graveyard. As soon as we entered five to six actresses were chasing us, they were covered in blood and they were screaming. “Please come play with me…just one bite…one nibble…COME HERE!” At this point, my friends are freaking out, shaking and completely forgetting that they have classes with some of these dead people.

We were then escorted to Peeler Crystal Lounge ,where there were red lights set up that made it look like the whole area was covered in blood. We were then escorted to the side of Peeler Crystal lounge…that’s where it got kind of frightening. Not because I was afraid of what was going on but because I was afraid that I was going to die from my friend gripping on my arm and screaming in my ear. I swear I lost feeling in both my right ear and my right arm for a solid 30 minutes. By the end, one of the actors was covered in blood and was in the corner locked in with a chain. This was probably my favorite part of the tour, because a strobe light was used. You see, when a strobe light is used, it makes movement look very scary and intense. And now comes the best part, our tour was complete and our tour guide was escorting us outside and all of the sudden, a side door opens and she gets dragged by a demon and everything turns pitch black. We start to relax and compose ourselves because its over…when suddenly we realize that the bloody chain guy is behind us screaming at us to get out. We leave running out of the building, and everyone is now crying. My four friends had tears of fear, and I had tears of joy. Overall, it was an amazing experience. I really recommend everyone to go to the one next year.
