This year’s homecoming theme was “There’s No Place Like Catawba,” a pun off of the famous Wizard of Oz quote “There’s no place like home.”

The week kicked off on Tuesday with a “Make it, Take it” night featuring custom koozies, car decals and lucky bamboo plants. On Wednesday was the infamous Lip Sync competition.

Thursday was the second annual homecoming campfire, hosted by ECO, and it was a huge hit. There were four fires for students to roast hot dogs and cook marshmallows for s’mores. There was also a s’mores bar to create special toppings for your s’mores like Reese’s peanut butter cup and chocolate graham crackers.

The event was so popular that even though they started with 160 hot dogs, they ran out only two hours into the event. However, there were still plenty of hot chocolate and s’more toppings. Some of the specialty hot chocolate toppings include pumpkin pie and peppermint creamers, whipped topping, and flavored mini marshmallows.

On Friday, there was a promotional basketball tip-off with free shirts and free tailgating themed foods.

Saturday, game day, had three events before the game. The Blue Masque Cider Bar, the DAS Sausagefest, and the Ketner School of Business Tailgate.

The weekend ended with a stunning football game win for Catawba!
