It is that time of year again where Student Affairs puts on their annual fundraiser, the Duck Draw! This year marks their 11th year hosting this fundraiser. The Duck Draw is a fundraiser that helps provide Thanksgiving meals for families that need assistance this holiday season. The meals include: a 10-12 lb. turkey, rice, one baking pan, corn, stuffing mix, cranberry sauce, green beans, and a box of brownie mix.
Student Affairs has been hosting this fundraiser since 2003. Since then, they have provided 1,480 meals to families in the local community. They also provided 180 meals for local families last year. They hope to provide 150 meals this year equaling 1630 meals over the past 11 years.
The ducks are $1 each and you can sponsor as many as you wish. You can also put other people’s names in place of yours. Now, there are a few ways to go about donating money. One way is to go to the Student Affairs office and donate the money there. Also, there will be a table set up in the Student Center for the next few weeks where you can donate money. Last, Residence Staff will be walking around to offices, dorms, and places in the community collecting donations for the fundraiser.
